·         Exceeded annual goal of fundraising by 520% annually; won 6 national awards of ‘best of’ in the United States; hundreds of awards; Best Education Foundation in state and nation (obtained title within 6 years of hiring.)
·         Responsible for the creation and supervision of all fund-raising activities for Tyler Independent School District’s non-profit foundation (a public charity).  Activities include annual fund, special events, teacher grants, board administration, marketing, alumni association and public relations.  Tyler ISD has 18,000+ students, 2,500 employees, $135 million annual operating budget, with ethnicity breakdown of student population of 1/3 white, 1/3 Hispanic and 1/3 African-American.
·         Created a restructured Foundation within the first six months of employment which resulted in a five-fold increase in annual fund contributions in first year.  Donations have increased more than twelve times the amount of annual donations the year before employment. In 2006, there were 87 donors; in 2013 there are well over 3,000. 
·         Community awareness program recognized by state organizations and gained national attention for education foundation effective marketing and outreach.  Positive marketing for school district that competes with largest private school enrollment in Texas (12%--more than 10 private schools compete with Tyler ISD.)
·         Printed materials, publications, and other marketing designs consistently win awards on state and national competitions. (Best Event, Best Campaign, Best News Release, Best Original Art, Best Use of Electronic Media—twice, Best Foundation director.)
·         Evaluated by total membership of Foundation Directors as “excelling all expectations” and given more than 55% increases in salary incentives due to proven performance in four years.
·         Created “A Night of Shining Stars” event which is a Hollywood-type red carpet event honoring the top 40 graduating seniors and the teachers they select as having the most positive impact on their academic success. (Underwriting received is twice the cost of event).
·         Created Campaign Kickoff Luncheons with speakers Tom Luce (former assistant U.S. Secretary of Education), Roger Staubach (NFL Hall of Fame 1985), and Steve Blow (Dallas Morning News columnist).
·         Created a first-ever alumni directory/data base with over 200,000 alumni across the world from Tyler ISD in the 125 year history of the school district.
·       Organize and supervise golf tournaments, silent auctions, special fundraiser events, District and community-wide events in Tyler (population 200,000).


Texas A&M University-Commerce

            Assistant to the Provost—Special Programs

·         Was responsible for the multi-tiered Regents’ Initiative for Excellence in Education, a five-year funded research project geared towards systemic change in teacher recruitment, preparation, and retention.

Executive Assistant to the Vice President, Marketing and Resource Development

·         Supervised the mission of the University in community development including the development of positive relationships with the University’s service area as well as growth of the region’s economic base.  Placed in charge of the student recruitment marketing printing pieces.


            Associate Vice President-Development (15 years)

·         Organized, initiated, and implemented fund-raising and public relations activities for the University and the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation, which included a $4.2 million capital campaign (the University’s first) ,annual fund drives, foundation solicitations and other extensive programs which advanced the University.  (Staff of one secretary only.)
·         Assets increased fivefold, donor base has tripled, endowments have quadrupled, board size doubled, and contributions quadrupled during employment.
·         Researched donors and coordinated development processes to provide positive relationships with entities outside the University environment.
·         Supervised direct mail program, Foundation Board meetings, donor recognition programs and fund management system.  (Over 350,000 annual contacts).  More than $1 million unrestricted donated annual fund.
