  So, this happened. I did something good for all the bad reasons. No, maybe I did something bad for all the right reasons. Yeah, that’s the ticket. A couple of Mondays ago … I cleaned out the freezers. Threw away anything which was frost bitten … which was just about everything. But, I got snake bit ridding us of the frost bitten … I put out FIVE trash cans for the Tuesday ‘solid waste’ pickup. I always put the maximum amount out for the trash day … I feel like I get ‘gypped’ if I don’t … like I don’t get my money’s worth unless I’ve rounded up a lot of trash… kitty commode scoops always top off the garbage take out … So, Monday night … huge storm. Rain, hail, lightning that was so lightening that the darkness-activated landscape lights were blinking … no idea if night had turned into day. The wind was hellish … And … all sprinkler systems came on despite their moisture detection gauges which are supposed to block all high cost waterings … And five trash cans (bins…to use a...

Chasing Wild Geese ... not just a single goose...

  I’ll tell you this: If I am ever on a chase… it will be for wild GEESE (plural). I’ll not go on a chase for one wild goose. Higher expectations … get more geese …Yesterday, I saw a flock of geese flying in formation and heading northwest … honking encouragement at their leader goose … We all make mistakes when we were young … and for the record, I was young last night …I tell myself often … Words in my head … You know how sometimes you get a song in your head and it won’t go away. I have that same phenomena with words. The little voice in my head is really like that cartoon character who could blow holes into a mountain saying, “Kaboom” … Ugly as homemade sin. A drip. A drop. A dweeb. I can’t get over the phrase, ‘in broad daylight’ … is there a margin of difference in daylight when in becomes ‘broad’ … I never hear of ‘narrow’ daylight but might try to start that saying … might go ‘viral’ … which is another word I hate … viral is like a spreading virus … so much of our ...

  ‘Well … that’s a fine “how do you do?” … I like that sarcastic phrase but have never found the right occasion in which to use… Most “How do you do’s” have been ‘Okay’ but not really ‘fine’… It’s kind of like … ‘they sold me down the river’ … I understand the metaphor, but cannot find the practicality of using it … Maybe today someone will surprisingly sell me down the river and I can say that phrase. One can only hope … From my lips to God’s ears … Someone sell me down the river … but with my luck?   Rivers such as the mighty Mississippi River bone dry … that’s the ‘story of my life’ … You know lots of sayings are based on the premise that the Earth revolves around us … Oh, he can dish it out but can he take it?   (I don’t like that phrase by the way … between you, me and that fencepost…) That old ‘so and so’ … the race is neck and neck … it’s just a Kangaroo Court … And why do we say, “So long” when we are looking directly at the person in real time … proba...
