Chasing Wild Geese ... not just a single goose...
I’ll tell you this: If I am ever on a chase… it will be for wild GEESE (plural). I’ll not go on a chase for one wild goose.
Higher expectations … get more geese …Yesterday, I saw a flock of geese flying in formation and heading northwest … honking encouragement at their leader goose …
We all make mistakes when we were young … and for the record, I was young last night …I tell myself often …
You know how sometimes you get a song in your head and it won’t go away. I have that same phenomena with words.
The little voice in my head is really like that cartoon character who could blow holes into a mountain saying, “Kaboom” …
Ugly as homemade sin. A drip. A drop. A dweeb.
I can’t get over the phrase, ‘in broad daylight’ … is there a margin of difference in daylight when in becomes ‘broad’ …
I never hear of ‘narrow’ daylight but might try to start that saying … might go ‘viral’ … which is another word I hate … viral is like a spreading virus … so much of our vocabulary has changed due to fancy computer talk … might have to study on this topic and opine my opinions … just like a spreading virus …
Words I didn’t know I like:
--Apologia … being in the constant state of apologizing … probable and possible title of my memoir …
--Doggerel … cheap and trite poetry …
--Confab .. secretive conversation.
--Fracas … trouble in chaos.
--Eclat … brilliant display or effect … as in … ‘he came into prominence but with éclat’ …
Arca … a secret
Arcanum …two secrets
Arcanorum … no idea here…
Obstreperous … noisy and difficult to control…
Final thoughts for today:
--Did you see the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry the other night? My dad always called it the ‘Grand Ole Uproar’ … I still have that ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ song in my mind …
--I have a friend who uses the coolest phrase … whenever I tell him about a party or weather or something …he will say, ‘Well, to hear Old So and So tell it …’ … As in, Me: It sprinkled last night. Him: Well, to hear Booger Watson tell it, it came a flood. (Ignore the Booger Watson name … real name changed to protect the not-so-innocent…)
--‘I’ve slept since then’… when you ask someone about a memory … sometimes I haven’t ‘slept since then’ … but still can’t remember the right answer…
--Which is better? A beautiful lie or a painful truth? Painful healing or healing pain?
--I suppose the most real moment our souls have on this Earth is when we cry and we don’t know why … you just cry and have ‘no good reason’ … that’s just our souls letting us know they are right here with us …
I still have a bushel basket full of notes to sift through and expose them herewith …
But, for now, I’m going on a wild GEESE chase …
