  I’ll be dog-goned … doggonend? I hear it but never see it written … have no way of knowning how it is spelled. Some words are seen only in books but seldom in speech … like ‘rollickying’ … who says that?   But I see it in books all the time:   We had a rollicking good time… I used to read the word ‘vehemently’ in books but never spoken.   I try now to use vehemently in a vehemently manner … I like when people say, “Some thrive on drama” … kind of ignores the ignorant who … well, thrive on drama… Spare me the drama.    At this age, I only like drama on ‘NCIS’ … As a child when I did something awful … which was the norm … I would always tell whoever was with me, “Now, don’t go squealing on me …”   Worked every time … no one wants to be a squealer … One of the funniest ‘put downs’ I ever heard was ‘Just how far up your butt do you intend to place your head?’ … That’s the PG version … I thought it was funny and have it written in red ink on a c...

  I don’t know who Cooter Brown is but I’ve heard all about him.   For instance, ‘That guy was drunker than Cooter Brown’, ‘His brother is crazy as Cooter Brown.’ ‘His sister’s bad luck is worse than Cooter Brown.’ Cooter Brown has many difficulties it seems … I have heard good people say, ‘Goodness gracious’… and the super-sized, ‘Goodness Gracious ALIVE’… which always sounds sacramental and mocking of the Lord. Sometimes people will say, ‘Hey, I’ve been around the block a few times.’   And, me? Oh, I’ve been around the block a few thousand times.   The cars sit in the garage so long without going anywhere; I start ‘em up and drive around the block a few times each week.   So, there.   I walked in my sleep last night.   I cannot remember ever doing this in the past.   And, in fact, I cannot remember doing this last night. But, I did. I got it in my mind that there were several folks in our house.   Not scary folks, but nice friends who, truly, were all some of my favorite people ever.   I knew them and was glad to see them… but the house was full of them. I tried situating them all in my room…. I apparently went and got them a box of chocolates because this morning the chocolate box was almost empty… on the couch.   I have a white couch and eating chocolates on it is something I’d never do, awake or asleep. Mom’s room is way, way over on the other side of the house from my little apartment… well, my spacious apartment.   I guess five closets makes it a massive ‘middle child’ apartment. But, it is a long walk to Mom’s room.   I noticed several of these friendly spirits on the couches in the living room, kitchen ‘nook’...
